Rebecca Lubbertsten Frederickse Van Der Grift, the daughter of Frederick
Lubberstsen (b. 1603) and Styntje Hendrickse, was christened on August 15, 1628 in
Amsterdam, Holland, Netherlands,. Her dad was one of the leaders of the Dutch community.
He emigrated from Holland sometime before 1638 and became a large landowner in New
Utrecht, Long Island. On May 27, 1640, he was the second person to be granted a patent of land in the area. Rebecca married Jacob Leendertz on July 19, 1648 and had eight children, of
which a son named Nicholas was born on May 5, 1658. In 1696, a migration of Dutch people of Long Island began to move southward into and through New Jersey. In this migration, Rebecca
with her eight children and their spouses moved in 1697 to live on four farms they purchased in
Bensalem. She died in 1711 in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
