The Heinhorst Family name was originally "Hor Hegenhorst," and later "zur Heinhorst."
Based on family lore and supported by 16th century tax records, it appears that the family
        descends from lower nobility.

Konrad Heinhorst (1785-1812) was born on August 41785 in Stapelshorn, Hanover
Germany. He married Anne Bohlman on May 9, 1811 in Gehlbergen, Hanover Germany. They had twins, a son named Wilhelm and a daughter named Anna Katherine Margaretha. Konrad
was taken into Napoleon's army as a conscript, serving in the 5th Military Division, 2nd
Battalion, and 2nd Company. He died on August 12, 1812, during the Russian Campaign. A
battle was fought that day, but it is not known whether his company was engaged or whether he
died of wounds, starvation, or disease. Konrad left a wife with two one-year old children,
        Wilhelm and Anna.
